Wedding DIY Projects

Wedding Day Ring Box

This was one of my first wedding projects because I didn't want my ring floating around lost somewhere. My fiance will be putting my engagemnet ring as well as my wedding band on my finger in order to make sure my band ends up closest to my heart!

Please dont mind the craziness on the floor. My house is run over with DIY materials.

Total cost $7.00

Wooden Box= $3.00 from The Christmas Tree Shops
Initial Sticker= $0.00 left over from my Save The Dates
Pearl strip= $4.30
Rhinestones= $0.00 left over from various projects
Damask Fabric= $0.00 scrp left from old projects
  •  Instructions
Fairly Easy to make. I basically just added a B sticker to the front and blinged it up a bit. Then I cut the fabric into strips and glued them into the ring cusions.

Ring Bearer Pillow

My Project
$3.00

Instructions:

Step1: Measure your pillow and cut fabric accordingly

Step2: I started by hot gluing the fabric at one end and pulling over to cover the entirely gluing as I went along.

Step3: I Cut my red ribbon to size and glued it to the ends and the middle. ( I think I want a thicker ribbon)

Stap4: Once fully wrapped I used a needle to poke a hole from the back and thread the thin white ribbon through pulling it tight in the middle to make a indentation in the middle.

Step5: I glued on the feather and added the black flower to cover the middle.

Step6: I took my extra fabric and used it to make a loop to cover the back and so my son can hold it.

Done!

Cost Breakdown:

I got a pillow from dollar tree $1.00 of course.

I used left over fabric and ribbon from other projects

I got a pack of feathers and the black flower from AC Moore and used a 40%off coupon making it $2.00

Total Cost=$3.00 and some change

Flower Girl Basket
Total Cost= $11.00

Instructions:

Step 1: I wanted the fabric to look sort of swagged so I decided not to measure the fabric and simply folded the top of the fabric to hide any frays and wrapped the Damask pattern around the basket using hot glue to bond creating swaggs as I went around .

Step2: I folded the red satin fabric inside the same way to hide any imperfections and began draping in the inside this time I glued the red to the Damask fabric to make it look seamless.

Step3: I took a thinner Damask ribbon and hot glued it along the handle of the basket.

Step4: Using my thick red ribbon I cut to size and tied it into a bow first making sure that it was glued to the basket and the inside fabric creating a seamless look. Then I took my pre sticky pearls and cut them down and stuck them in the middle of the bow.

Step5: Once I was sure that I had enough fabric I pulled it all to the bottom cutting off any excess and glued to the bottom of the basket.

Voila!

Cost Breakdown:
So I found the basket at our local dollar store that was going out of business so they had everything on sale for .69 cent.

I purchased the Damask and red fabric from Jo-Ann's and using my 40% off coupon it cost me $6.00

The red ribbon & damask ribbon on the handle I got at Michael's for .99 cents each

The sticky pearls in the middle I got from Mitchael's and used a 40% off coupon so it cost $3.00 or so

Total Cost= $11.00

Drink Straws

As easy as easy gets! I really wanted to make straws for our signature cocktails, but I had no idea how easy they woud be! One side has either the name of an old movie or classic actor/actress and the other side has a cute saying like "Enjoy, or drink up"

Instructions:

Step1: I created the paper strips in powerpoint by typing the names and sayings in straight lines and copying in as many times as I could on the paper.
Step2: Print out paper and cut in half long ways. Then cut each piece in a strip so that one side is a name or movie and the other is a saying.
Step3: Add glue tape across the back of the paper and fold around the straw.

Viola!!

Cost Breakdown:

Straws: $3.00 ( for 1,000)
Paper: $0.00 regular computer paper
